Our Company
Our story started in 1998, after IMATION - company involved in medical imaging, digital printing, and data storage - created the Eastern Europe distribution network. The founder of Medimat, Laszlo Gemes had already a solid experience in the medical imaging market. The industry's world leader KODAK acknowledged this expreience and contracted Medimat as its sole Hungarian distributor in the medical imaging business. The digital technology exploded and it effected the medical imaging market, too. Companies were urged to change and Carestream Health took over the KODAK medical imaging business. Medimat continued its success with Carestream for many years installing more than 150 modern medical imaging systems in Hungarian healthcare. Carestream later stepped back from the Eastern European market and Medimat started cooperating with the Hungarian X-ray manufacturer Control-X Medical. In the past decade, the Medimat portfolio has been completed by the PACS systems (Picture Archive and Communication Systems for medical imaging). Its traditional PACS partner is OR-TECHNOLOGY, Germany. Medimat also maintains a strong cooperation with the traditional X-ray manufacturer DMS APELEM, France.
With the management of the co-founder Aniko Dr. Gemesne Juhasz a biotechnology laboratory was founded in 2005. The latest technology solutions are applied to get plant materials for industrial pepper breeding.

Medimat is a member of the Association of Medical Devices Manufacturers Hungary (Magyar Orvostechnikai Szövetség), Imaging diagnostics and Telemedicine Section.
